About the

Ward Funeral Homes

For over a century, Ward Funeral Home has been a cornerstone of the community, built on a long-standing tradition of care, compassion, and integrity. Our core values of thoughtful guidance, unwavering respect, and helping families honour the memories of their loved ones continue to be the foundation of everything we do.

We remain deeply committed to carrying forward a 100-year legacy of serving our neighbours with the same excellence and personal touch that has defined our funeral homes for four generations. Though our story has grown, our promise to provide your family with outstanding service, value, and a gentle hand during your time of need remains our highest priority.

Weston (Toronto) Chapel

Our legacy began in 1914 when William John (W.J.) Ward purchased the business from Mr. John Albert Wright, serving the then-rural community of Weston. While the 1930s saw a temporary expansion into Woodbridge under W.J.’s eldest son, Lindsay, it was his youngest son, William John (Bill), who carried the torch forward alongside his own sons.

Jack and Alan Ward joined the firm in 1959 and 1961, eventually assuming leadership in 1968. By the early 1990s, the fourth generation, John and Cameron Ward, stepped into their roles. Our Weston chapel remains a community landmark, even being featured in Doors Open Toronto in 2013.

While ownership of Ward Funeral Homes has evolved over its 100-year history, our founding values of integrity and compassion remain unchanged.

The fourth generation of the Ward family successfully guided the home into the modern era, and today, our dedicated leadership team is committed to carrying that century-long legacy forward. We continue to innovate and provide exceptional service, ensuring that every family we serve receives the same attentive care that has been our hallmark since 1914.

Brampton Chapel

In 1972, Ward Funeral Homes welcomed the David A. McClure Funeral Home into its family. Affectionately known as the 'beautiful white house on the hill,' this heritage landmark has served as a sanctuary for countless families over the decades.

Featured in Doors Open Brampton in 2008, the century home stands as a symbol of stability and care. ï»¿Today, our team of dedicated professionals remains committed to upholding this tradition, providing a comforting presence and expert guidance to our neighbors in their time of need.

Woodbridge Chapel

In 1988, the former residence of the Graham family was selected as the future site of our Woodbridge chapel. Through a collaborative effort with community partners, the location opened in 1995, featuring a magnificent chapel and a reception center with serene ravine views.

While the property transitioned to the Ward organization’s sole ownership in 2002, it remains a premier destination for compassionate service. Today, our dedicated team continues to uphold this century-long legacy, providing a peaceful and dignified environment for the Woodbridge community.
