In Loving Memory of Zoya Klemoff

September 7, 1945 – October 13, 2026

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Zoya, beloved aunt, great-aunt, and cherished family member, at the age of 81. Zoya passed away at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto, where she received exceptional care.

Zoya shared a beautiful life with her husband of many years, David Conti, who passed away in 2012. David was the love of her life, and she missed him very much over the past 14 years. She was the cherished daughter of Helen (Helenko) Klemoff, and Samuel Klemoff. Zoya was the younger sister of Peter Samuel Klemoff, and they adored each other.

Zoya lived in Toronto her entire life, and lived for many of those years in Ronscevalles, a neighbourhood that she greatly enjoyed. In her early years, Zoya worked as an Accounts Receivable professional. Later in life she became an entrepreneur and started her own cleaning business.

Zoya lived a life that touched the people fortunate enough to know and love her. She was a woman who valued family and the connections that make life meaningful. She will be remembered with great affection for the place she held in the lives of those closest to her and for the love and support she gave so generously.

In the later years of her life, Zoya and her niece, Nicolette Klemoff (Mapplebeck), grew especially close, sharing a bond that became much more than the traditional aunt-and-niece relationship. She became a second mother, a trusted confidante, and a steadfast champion. Their relationship was a treasured gift, made all the more meaningful by the many years of life and history they shared.

Zoya was also a loving great-aunt and a devoted supporter of Katherine and Christian Mapplebeck. She took a genuine interest in their lives and their future, and she was immensely proud of the incredible people that hey have become. The affection she held for them, and the special place she occupied in their family, will remain a lasting part of their memories.

Zoya appreciated the simple pleasures of life: sharing meals, enjoying long conversations, playing cards, and spending time with the people she loved. These ordinary moments became extraordinary through the memories they created, and they will be deeply treasured by those who shared them with her. This spring, Zoya discovered the joy of attending the Toronto Symphony Orchestra with her niece and great niece, and it was a spectacular occasion.

Zoya will be remembered, deeply missed, and loved always.

May she rest peacefully.

In keeping with her wishes, a small, private family gathering was held to honour Zoya's life and memory.  A celebration of life will be planned for the spring of 2027, when family and friends will have an opportunity to come together to remember her.

In loving memory of Zoya Klemoff, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Toronto.
