Incoronata Zanatta

April 21, 1933 — February 17, 2024

Incoronata Zanatta

Born: April 21, 1933
Castelfranco in Miscano, Benevento, Italy

Resting in Peace: Saturday, February 17, 2024
Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Incoronata passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17, 2024 in her 91st year. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Bruno (pre-deceased 2004) to whom she devoted her love and her life. Rural life in Italy was not for her. She had aspirations for the big city life. So in 1954, together with her older sister Lucia, she left her birthplace to join her older brother, Fedele, in Toronto. There were struggles and moments of doubt, until she met the love of her life, Bruno, to whom she was married for almost 45 years. Together they built a comfortable life. They enjoyed entertaining family, friends and neighbours in their home where food and wine overflowed. The occasional trips to Italy and to warm, sunny places brought much joy and some respite from hard work. Incoronata was a remarkable seamstress; the sewing machine was her best friend and the paintbrush was Bruno’s. To Incoronata, family was everything. She was a passionate, fun-loving woman who had an amazing memory. She was a story-teller and keeper of the family history; and after raising a “bicchierino” or two, a few naughty jokes might follow. Incoronata will always be treasured by her siblings Giovannina (Francesco, pre-deceased), Michele (Liliana, pre-deceased), Maria (Vittorio), Elia (Bruno), Fiorenzo (Peggy). She is now reunited with her adored brother Fedele (Angela), her cherished sister Lucia (Giovanni, pre-deceased), her beloved mother Maria Grazia and several other beautiful souls who left us too soon. Incoronata will be held dear in the hearts of her many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, godchildren, relatives, friends and neighbours. She demonstrated a strong faith in her Creator by supporting her church community of All Saints for many years. The family would also like to acknowledge the wonderful, caring staff at the Village of Humber Heights for their compassion and kindness shown to Incoronata these past months while in their care. God bless you.
Incoronata will be greatly missed, but the many precious memories shared over the years will bring comfort to all who knew her.
May she rest in eternal peace among the angels.
