LUKASIK, Winnifred Irene
Winnifred Irene Lukasik (Cooper) in her 96th year, with her loving sons at her side died peacefully June 10, 2015 in the palliative care unit of Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto. Winnie was born November 5, 1919 and a lifelong Torontonian. Winnie was a longtime resident of Coldstream Avenue, St. Hilda’s and Scarlett Heights’ retirement homes. She was predeceased by Roger, her husband of 56 years and the love of her life. Predeceased by her parents William & Mary (Guscott) Cooper, sisters Myrtle McKay (William), Dorothy Sutcliffe (Clifford) and her brother Sidney (Lillian) Cooper. Sadly missed by her loving sons and their families: Jack & Lisa Lucas, William Lukasik, and Reg & Brenda Lukasik. Lovingly remembered by her grand-children Mary & Roger Lukasik, step-grandson Jason Myers & family and sister in law Jean Lukasik and family. Fondly remembered as Aunty Winnie and as a second mom by the Sutcliffe family, and her many nieces and nephews and great nieces & nephews. Cremation has taken place. Interment at Prospect Cemetery, with a Celebration of Winnie’s life to occur at a later date.
