William Duncan Walker

October 31, 1932 – December 3, 2025

It is with very heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father, William Walker on December 3, 2025, in his 93rd year. William was born in Linlithgow, Scotland on October 31, 1932, to George and Helen Walker (nee Christie), and was a devoted brother to his sisters Margaret and Frances (predeceased).

William is now reunited with the love of his life, Irene (nee Dempsey), with whom he married in 1956 in Scotland before immigrating to Toronto in 1960. Together they were the proud parents of William (Grace), Ronald (Angelina), Jackie (Frank) and Frances (Patrick). William was the beloved grandfather of Kirsten, Meaghan (Spencer), Colleen (Christopher), Liam, Alysha, Nicole and Emily. He will be greatly missed by the Niven Family, as well as his extended family and friends.

William was a proud member of the North York Fire Department for 31 years and was also a member of the Armed Forces. Throughout his life he was passionate about soccer and an avid Glasgow Celtic fan. William will be remembered for his kindness, and his ability to put a smile on anyone’s face. He was a humble man, who loved life and was exceptionally proud of his family, and those he loved.

He will be fondly remembered by all that knew him.

Memorial donations may be made in William’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge) on Monday, December 8, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Roch’s Parish on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. A private family cremation will take place at a later date.
