It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William Sturgess, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Hennick Humber Hospital. He was predeceased by his mother, Marie, and his father, William.
Bill dedicated many years of service to the City of York and retired in the year 2000 from the amalgamated City of Toronto.
An avid sports fan, he enjoyed completing crossword puzzles and spending time outdoors. One of his greatest pleasures was relaxing under the gazebo at his retirement home, where he found comfort and contentment.
Bill will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his friends and by the residents of Queens Estate Retirement Home.
