With profound sadness, we announce the passing of William Grant Oliver, whose humor and warm spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. Grant passed away on February 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Grant was deeply loved and cherished, especially by his devoted wife of 56 years, Betty. He will be lovingly remembered by his children John (Jennifer), Sarah (Ryan), and Leanne (Richard), and by his treasured grandchildren Jaime, Jordan, Jane, Alice, Katelyn, and Kristen, who brought him immense pride and joy. He is also survived by his sister Betty, along with many nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends.
Born in Shelburne, Grant dedicated over 39 years of his career to The Woodbridge Group. He was a passionate fisherman who especially cherished spring and fall trips with his lifelong friends. Grant was an avid card and poker player, golfer, woodworker, hobbyist, PROBUS member, former ball player, and softball coach. Above all, he was a proud and loving Papa.
Grant will be remembered for his stubbornness, quick wit, and infectious sense of humor, as well as his ability to light up a room with laughter. His presence will be deeply missed, but his stories, kindness, and love will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 21st, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Granite Ridge Golf Course (The Albatross), 9503 Dublin Line, Milton, ON L9T 2X7.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in memory of Grant, to your favourite charity.
