William Dobson

William Robert (Bob) Dobson, was born in Brampton on July 10, 1930 and passed away on October 12th, 2015 in Brampton. Bob was married to the late Marilyn Dobson for more than fifty years. They made their life in Brampton with Bob working in construction and enjoying time with family at home; trips to Las Vegas, model trains, tea time Saturdays and the backyard pool to name a few of life’s pleasures. Bob was a quietly devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Their children, were devoted and provided care and support to Bob especially over the past year and they are Jill (Wayne McCleave), Peter (Lynn), and, Jane (Tony Marcotullio). Bob was pre-deceased by his infant son Christopher.
Bob was a proud Grandfather and loved his Grandchildren, Kira (Ed Laberge), Adam Weiler (Melissa), Nathan McCleave, Jenna McCleave, and, Sarah Marcotullio. Bob leaves behind five Great-Grandchildren whom he held in awe - Ethan, Griffin, Tripp, Jacob, and Paige.
Bob grew up in Brampton and was the son of, the late William Clifford and Sarah Jane (Wilson) and had seven siblings. He is survived by Ruth McCulloch (late Keith), Shirley Robb (late William), Lenore Laidlaw (Roy), Wilson Dobson, Mavis Chambers (late Ken), and brother-in-law, William (Bill) Dixon; predeceased by his sisters, Margaret Dixon, Irene Dobson. Bob is survived by his sisters-in-law Carolyn (Bob Murray) and Nancy (late Mike Campbell). He will also be remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Bob’s memory to Cystic Fibrosis Canada, P.O. Box 2151, Station C, Kitchener, N2H 6M1 or a charity of your choice.
The family sincerely thanks the Staff at Burton Manor for their kindness and respectful care over the past few months.
