Walter Pontiero

 October 12, 1957-June 21, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Walter Pontiero, a devoted husband, proud father, loving grandfather, and a true craftsman, on June 21, 2024 at the age of 66.

Walter dedicated his life to his family and his work. His greatest joy came from spending time with his children and grandchildren, creating countless cherished memories. Whether it was family dinners, holiday gatherings, or spontaneous trips, his love for his family was evident in every moment he shared with them.

Walter had an insatiable love for travel. He and his family explored the world together, visiting breathtaking destinations and immersing themselves in diverse cultures. These vacations were not just trips but adventures that bonded the family and created stories that will be told for generations.

As a provider, Walter was unparalleled. He worked tirelessly to ensure his family had everything they needed. His dedication to his craft was unmatched, and his passion for quality craftsmanship was evident in everything he touched. Whether building a home or fixing something around the house, his meticulous attention to detail and pride in his work shone through.

Walter leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and devotion. He is survived by his loving wife Astrid, his dear children Jeannette (Igor), Tony (Stephanie) and Samantha (Max) and his cherished grandchildren Anthony, Dominic, Sophia, Isabella, Danielle, Mia and Joelle. Walter will be sadly missed by his father Mario and sisters Marina (James) and Elide (Carlo) and his many family and friends.

A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday June 29, 2024 from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. at the Ward Funeral Home 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge (just west of Pine Valley Dr.) In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory of Walter in a charity of your choice.
