Vittoria Monardo (nee Ierullo)

May 28, 1932 – March 1, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beautiful Mom, Vittoria Monardo (nee Ierullo). She passed away surrounded by the love of her family on March 1, 2024, in her 91^st year.

She is now reunited in heaven with her dearest husband of 64 years, Salvatore Monardo. Vittoria will forever be cherished by her loving children, Joe (Charlotte), Mary (Domenic), and Pasquale (Susie). Adored Nonna to Melissa (Chad), Nicole (Philippe), Michael (Csilla), Laura (Silvano), Lydia (Anthony), Victoria & Sarah. Proud Bisnonna to Cameron, Noelle, Leah, Rhys, Alexia, Luca and Francesco. She will be lovingly remembered by her extended family and friends.

Vittoria has always been a pillar of strength and resilience. After marrying Salvatore in 1953, she made the journey in 1956 to join him in Canada in search of better opportunities with Joe, who was only two years old at the time.

Those that had the pleasure of knowing Vittoria, knew that she loved being in her kitchen, cooking her delicious meals for her family. She did everything for her family, and ensured they knew how much she loved them, making a good life for herself and those she held dear. She always put the needs of others first and was a very loving and wise woman. She could also be found watching game shows in her free time, particularly Wheel of Fortune.

Vittoria was a woman of great faith and enjoyed going to mass every weekend with Salvatore. And she greatly enjoyed holidays, taking the opportunity to spend time with and cook for her entire family.

Her legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

In memory of Vittoria, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society.

Friends and family will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge) on Monday, March 4, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Parish (300 Ansley Grove Road, Woodbridge). Entombment to follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens.
