Murray:Viola Christina (nee Gowland)
Passed away peacefully in her 95th year at Humber Memorial Hospital on Friday April 20, 2012. Beloved wife of the late Dr. J. Leo Murray and dear sister of the late J. Wilbert Gowland. Survived by her sister-in-law Dora Gowland and her many nieces and nephews. Cherished aunt of Doug Gowland (Sharon), Lee Baskerville (Leon), Paul, Brian and Walter Murray (Pam) and great-aunt of Ian Baskerville (Stephanie) and Sara Murray and the late Matthew Baskerville. Lifelong member and soprano soloist of Central United Church, Weston and longtime member of Weston Golf and Country Club where she and her husband made many friends. Cherished friend of Cor and Joyce Klamer and the late Johanna and of Dr. Jack and Kathleen Mulhern of Glasgow, Scotland. The family is forever grateful to her wonderful friend Colette Pinarello and her daughters Alicia and Stephanie for their compassion and loving care of Viola. Special thanks also to Dr. Jim Rodgerson and her care workers Azmera, Emilita, Jackie and Merlyn.Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 24th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road, (north of Lawrence Ave) Weston with the funeral to be held Wednesday April 25th in the Ward Chapel at 1pm. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Central United Church, Weston or your favorite charity would be greatly appreciated.
