Vincenzo Brandolini

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear father Vincenzo Brandolini on Monday, April 13, 2026, at the age of 98.

Devoted husband to Elisabetta for 72 wonderful years. Proud and loving father of Vito (Doreen) and Janet (Luigi). Cherished nonno to Emanuele, Gianluca, and Teresa. Loving brother-in-law of the late Gemma Chiola, the late Domenico Chiola (Luigina), the late Anna DiBattista, and the late Ada Calcagni (Michele).

Vincenzo has been reunited with his loving parents, Vito and Chiara Brandolini, his adored wife Elisabetta, his in laws Carmine and Teresa Chiola, his siblings Antonio, Olga Tarquinio (Carmine) and Bettina Rosati (Augusto). Vincenzo is survived by his loving sister Maria DiTomasso (Camillo).

Born in Castiglione a Casauria, Pescara, Italy in 1928. Vincenzo married his elementary school sweetheart Elisabetta. In 1953 they immigrated to Canada aboard the Andrea Doria hoping to find a better life. Together they built a home and family rooted in love, respect, faith, and sacrifice.

As a young man and the eldest son of the family, Vincenzo took on the father figure role when his father became ill. He decided to leave Italy in order to try to earn enough money to send back to his family. Vincenzo worked in the mines in France and then went to Caracas, Venezuela to work as a waiter.

Vincenzo was a very gifted musician. He had an incredible musical ear which he passed on to his son and grandchildren. His violin and mandolin played an integral part of his life journey. Wherever Vincenzo went, he was respected. He was a very faithful son who honoured his parents all his life. He was always a loyal brother to his siblings who could always rely on his help day or night.

He was a model husband, always patient, helpful, and loving toward his wife. They were inseparable for 72 years. As a father and a grandfather, he set the bar very high. He led by example. He loved his three grandchildren so much and was so proud of each of them for the beautiful people they became with his love and on-going guidance. He has been a blessing to all who knew him. May he now rest in God’s loving arms.

The family extends a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Sunnybrook Hospital, Cortellucci Hospital, and to AgeCare Pine Grove for all their care, patience, and kindness.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Vincenzo’s name.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge) on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter's Parish (100 Bainbridge Avenue, Woodbridge) on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens.
