Di Battista:Victoria
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Victoria Di Battista on New Year’s day, 2012. Born to Michael and Vincenza LoFranco on June 17, 1925, she grew up in downtown Toronto with her 10 brothers and sisters. Vicky married the late John Di Battista on April 15, 1950, and together, they raised a large and close-knit family. Vicky will be missed by her children, Carmen (Debora), Casey (Cindy) and Tracey (Michael) and is predeceased by her son Michael (Elena). Vicky loved, supported and laughed with her 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson and will be remembered by them always. Her love of crocheting was prolific and, as a result of her generous spirit, she leaves behind hundreds of colourful handmade afghans that will keep us warm as they keep her always close to our hearts. Resting at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Rd., (north of Lawrence Ave.). Weston from 7-9pm Monday and 2-4 and 7-9pm Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10:00am from St. Bernard de Clairvaux Catholic Church (1789 Lawrence Ave., west). Interment Sanctuary Park Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
“I was here
I lived, I loved
I was here
I did, I’ve done everything that I wanted
And it was more that I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here”
