Veronica Adassa Payton-King

In loving memory of Veronica Adassa Payton-King.

Born July 16, 1925.  Passed away at the age of 101 on August 20, 2026 at North York General Hospital. She was surrounded by family.

Veronica was born on the beautiful Island of Jamaica in the Parish of Saint Andrew. She was a midwife in Jamaica and was trained as a Registered Nurse in England. She later settled in Toronto with her family.

She is predeceased by her husband Norman and daughter Andrea.

Veronica will be remembered for the kind, caring and generous person she was. She was a shining beacon to her children, grandchildren, and their families, great grandchildren, her siblings and other family members and friends.

She will be missed by her sons Anthony (Anna) and Kenrick King. 

Granddaughters Alyssa King-Sookram (Darian) and Anita Noswarthy-Rhule (Rayon). Grandsons, Llandon and Austin Ross.  Great granddaughters, Elise and Celine Sookram, Brother Pastor Ralph Payton (Sylvia) other family members, church family and many friends.
