Ventura Marto

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ventura(Vince) Marto at the age of 87.

Born in Portugal, Ventura carried a deep love for his homeland throughout his life. He was blessed to call both Portugal and Canada home, creating a life filled with family, love and cherished memories.

Ventura was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Jane and loving father to his two daughters, Liza Ewing(Paul) and Julie Pilato (Angelo).

His greatest joy was his family. He was a proud grandfather to Tyler(Jennifer) Terry, Jessica(Hunter) Marco(Leia) , Selena(Nathan), Aleixia(Paul) and a loving great grandfather to Amelia and Alaina. Watching his family grow was one of the greatest gifts of his life.

Ventura had a few special loves that brought him tremendous happiness. He was passionate supporter of his beloved soccer team Benefica and his favorite hockey team the Montreal Canadians and could always be counted on to follow his team. He also had a very special place in his heart for his dog “Charlie” aka (Piggy Piggy) Charlie brought him companionship, laughter and so many special moments.

But above all else, Ventura loved his family. They were his pride and his greatest treasure. His love, his stories his traditions, and the memories he created with that closest to him will remain with his family forever.

He will be deeply missed by this wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family, friend and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest peacefully, Dad. We love you and will miss you always.
