Thomas “Tom” William Hopkins
Passed away peacefully surrounded by love at Brampton Civic Hospital in his 80th year on March 28, 2013. Predeceased by his brother Eldon “Hoppy” Hopkins, sister Anne Mungham and brother in law William “Bill” Agnew. Survived by his adored wife of 56 years Jill and their three daughters Leslie (Rob Grdic), Wendy (Boyd Hale) and Nancy (Rob McConnell). “Gramps” will be missed by Tara, Stephen, Linley, Andrew and Hopkins “Hop”. Tom is also survived by his sister in law Margaret Hopkins, sisters Doris Agnew and Ethel (Lou Levesque), his brother Clarence “Tupper” (Dorothy) Hopkins and many nieces and nephews. As former owner of Gibson’s Cleaners, he will be remembered as a leader and visionary by his colleagues and staff. Special thanks to the staff of Brampton Civic Hospital, to Esther for her care and to Tom’s special friends Bob and Klaus in his final days. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main Street South (Hwy 10) Brampton, on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 2-4pm and 6-9pm. A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held on Wednesday at Christ Church Anglican, 4 Elizabeth Street, Brampton at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Brampton Civic Hospital- Palliative Care.
