It is with a very heavy heart that the family of Tom Graham announces his passing in their presence, on Thursday, April 4th, 2013, at St. Michael’s Hospital. Tom was born in Alliston on December 7th, 1938, to Elene and Jack Graham.
Tom was the loving husband of Jeanne Morrison (nee Hurst) and the cherished father of Mary, Hal, and James. He also leaves to mourn, Ian Smith, Stacy Graham, and his grandchildren Emily, Charlotte and Owen Graham. He will also be missed by his brother Vic and sister-in-law Adele Graham, sister-in-law June Graham, mother-in-law Muriel Hurst, sister and brother-in-law Mary and David Dalton, sister-in-law Margaret Hurst and partner Sharon Conway. Nieces and nephews, Kelly, Jay, Scott, Drew, Tricia and Alex, will warmly remember him, as well as many other family members and good friends. He was predeceased by his elder brother, Ron.
Tom was educated at the University of Toronto and the State University of NY at Buffalo. He was an educator with the Scarborough Board of Education for 37 years, the majority of this time as Principal. He was well respected by his many colleagues and loved by a large circle of long-time friends.
Tom was an avid hiker, world traveller and loyal Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He was a person of faith who enjoyed singing in the choir and listening to good music. He always found time in his day to keep in touch with friends, family and speak to others that he encountered along the way.
Family and friends may gather at the Ward Funeral Home 2035 Weston Road in Toronto, North of Lawrence Ave (416) 241-4618 on Monday April 8, 2013 from 12:00noon until time of memorial at 1pm. This special service to celebrate Tom’s life will be followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be much appreciated.
