Matsushita Tatsumi (Tats)
Peacefully passed away, on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Sunrise Senior Living (Oakville) at the age of 81. Beloved husband of the late June Ito (2009). Cherished father of David and his wife, Junko, of New York and Janet Matsushita and her husband, Desmond Shea, of New Orleans. Sadly missed by grandchildren Kentaro, Tomoyasu, Bradley and Erin. Fondly remembered by sister, Marie Okumura, of Oakville. Tats was born in Mission, British Columbia on September 2, 1931 and raised in Picture Butte, Alberta. He studied mechanical engineering at McGill University, and attended Harvard Business School. He worked with the British American Oil Company (Clarkson Refinery), Vice President of Gulf Oil and Vice President of Petro Canada Inc. (in Montreal, Toronto and Calgary) until his retirement to Nanaimo, B.C. Tats was an avid golfer and a member of the Mississauga Golf & Country Club, Glencoe Golf & Country Club and Nanaimo Golf Club. One of his many passions was the great outdoors where he could enjoy boating and fishing. Visitation will be held at the Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville (905 844 3221) on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 6-9 p.m. Service will be held in the chapel on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to your charity of liking.
