It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Steven Low. A beloved father, a cherished brother, uncle, grandfather, son and a dear friend to all.
Steven Low passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Brampton Civic Hospital on Monday, October 6th at 2:20 pm after a difficult battle with squamous cell laryngeal cancer.
Steve was born in Arbroath, Scotland, moving to Canada when he was 9 years old, where he lived in Bramalea throughout his life.
Steve was adored by all those who knew him. He had a cheeky smile that lit up a room, with an infectious, mischievous and childlike laugh that brought good times and good energy wherever he went.
He was an incredibly hard worker, stubbornly working right up until his hospitalisation. Working in shipping and receiving, and as a dedicated gas technician, and all round handyman, his self sacrifice and devotion to his family paved the way for the blessed lives that we have had. His passion for music also led him to host karaoke nights in his favourite Brampton haunts. You could always hear him humming or whistling a tune as he went about his day.
Steve was known for his playful spirit, big heart and incredible generosity, and was someone who would do absolutely anything for you. A wild at heart but kind soul, with a zest for living life by his own rules right to the end.
He had a deep passion for motorcycles, golf, all types of music, and sports, supporting the Toronto Blue Jays, Toronto Maple Leafs, and of course the Glasgow Rangers throughout his life.
He faced every challenge in life with inspirational courage, resilience and strength and we are so proud of everything that he was, of everything that he overcame, and of everything that he accomplished.
He is survived by his children; Tiffany, Amber, and Aidyn, his grandchildren; Anthony, Gabriel and Layla, his nieces; Brooke and Alexandra, his nephews; Nicholas and Trevor, his brother Brian, and his father Alexander.
As he reunites with his son Chad, brother Sandy, and mother Elizabeth for a wee Glayva up above, we all here will carry him in our hearts, never forgetting the love, support, and friendship that he brought to all of our lives.
As we prepare to celebrate the life and memories that we shared with him, we invite you to join us in honouring an incredible man who’s impact won’t soon be forgotten.
He departed this world leaving a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories that will stay forever in our hearts.
