Stefano Suppa

Stefano Suppa, our beloved husband, father, Nonno and Bisnonno, passed away peacefully in his home in the loving arms of his wife, on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 4:32 pm, at the age of 94. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Stefano is forever loved and missed by his wife of 69 years, Agata (née Teti). Papa was adored by his children Vincenzo (Mary), Lucrezia (Michael), Vittoria (Benny) and Bruno. Proud Nonno to Stephanie (Reuben), John (Michelle), Christina (Mark), Christopher, Laura, Sabrina (Joseph), Vanessa, Daniela (Alexandre), and Samantha. Stefano was the cherished Bisnonno to Nathan, Ella (predeceased), Olivia, Emily, Lea and James.

Stefano now joins his brothers and sisters in heaven, who have gone before him. Stefano will be held in the hearts and memories of his many family, friends and the Comunita di Filogaso, both in Toronto, where he was a founding member, and in Italy. Stefano had a life-long devotion to La Madonna di Monte Carmelo.

Stefano came to Canada in 1953 with $20 in his pocket. Stefano built a good life for his family, establishing strong family values. Nothing brought him more pleasure than to host family gatherings. Stefano eagerly anticipated the yearly Festa di Santo Stefano and Festa del Carmine where extended family and friends gathered to celebrate. He was a firm believer and encouraged his children to continue celebrating and carrying on these traditions even after he could no longer join us physically. The party must go on!

Stefano’s happy place was either at his life-long best friend's farm, or in his own garden. Stefano loved to share his abundant harvest of tomatoes and beans. Stefano was so proud of his garden. He is now in heaven, cultivating God’s garden, waiting for us to join him.
