Sonia Khamissi

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sonia Khamissi. She passed on November 22, 2023 along side the love and support of her children.

Sonia was born in 1935 to Hanna and Juliet Dorkhom. She was the beloved wife of the late Ibrahim Khamissi and a loving mother of Elias Khamissi (Clara), Grace Khamissi, and John Khamissi (Reem). She was also the loving grandmother of Natalie Khamissi, Lucas Khamissi, and Marcus Khamissi. She will also be remembered by her siblings Salwa Dorkhom (late Michael), Elie Dorkhom (Amal), Aida Caesar (late Joachim), and George Dorkhom (Svitlana).

Sonia was always devoted to caring for her family. She was a strong-willed widowed mother who went through multiple immigrations for the well being of her 3 children. She found peace in Canada where she enjoyed cooking, fashion, and celebrations. We will always remember her love and compassion to those around her.

Our grief over losing our mother and grandmother is infinite and our loving memory of her will always remain in our hearts

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home "Brampton Chapel" on Tuesday November 28 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday November 29 at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church with interment to follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens.
