Siegfried Wurz, aged 81, passed away at home in the early morning of June 13th 2011with his wife Veronika, and daughters Charlotte and Liz by his side. He had just recently been diagnosed with lung cancer.
Siegfried lived his life on his own terms, fiercely independent to the end of his days. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Veronika, his younger sister, Jutta Wurz and her husband George Freeman, his daughter Charlotte and her husband Otto Costanzo and their children Monika and Jakob, his daughter Liz and her husband John Barnes and their children, Tori, Lauren, Kirsten and Samantha.
He was a devoted, husband, father and grandfather. He was the sole caregiver to Veronika until the very end, when it was Siegfried that needed some additional care and support.
Siegfried was an Upholsterer by trade and a true craftsman by heart. In his youth he was an athlete and an avid photographer. As time and technology advanced his passion turned to computers.
A heartfelt note of gratitude is sent to Dr. James Crummey, and the palliative care doctor Dr. Jonathan Abrams for all of their support and assistance in making Siegfried's last days as comfortable as possible as well as for their strong support given to his family. A private interment will take place at a later date.
