MANN, Sidney James

After struggling with his health for a number of years, Sid died suddenly in Hamilton on November 21, 2011 in his 79th year. Beloved husband of Laine (Albo). Greatly missed by children, Tamra Mann (Randy), Cydney Mann, Paul Mann (Linda), Harald Rajaste and Garry Cuthbertson (Lisa) and grandchildren, Caitlin, Matthew and Aiden Yorke, Sarah and Jessica Mann, Robinson Mann, Stephen and Jamie Rajaste and Michael Cuthbertson. Dear brother to John (Mary). Predeceased by siblings Muriel, Beverley, Andrew (Gwen) and nephew Drew. Lovingly remembered by nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Sid spent the majority of his working life as a salesman in the sign industry where he had an accomplished career managing the accounts of some of North America's largest companies. His passions were golf, cars (new and old), bingo, the Toronto Maple Leafs and a good story. He loved to garden and his green thumb was a family trait. One of life's true originals, Sid could be cantankerous, warm and charming all at the same time. Most endearing of all was his ability to laugh at himself. He was much loved and will be missed. The family wishes to thank the caring staff of the Renal Program at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton and special thanks to Dr. Catherine Clase.

Family and friends will be received at the WARD FUNERAL HOME, 52 Main Street South, Brampton, Ontario, on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Sid's life to follow in the Chapel. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Joseph's Healthcare Foundation, Hamilton would be appreciated by the family.
