SHIRLEY JEAN WHITMAN (CREWS)

March 30, 1940 - April 22, 2025

It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of Shirley Whitman (Crews) on April 22, 2025.

Dearly beloved Mother of Anne (Doug), Janet and Heather (Kevin) and cherished Grandmother of Michael, Christine (James), Scottie, Maddie and Mac. She is survived by her brother Gord Crews, sisters-in-law Patricia Whitman and Donna (Joe) MacDonald, and brother-in-law Charles (Tee Roberts) Hafey and her many nieces, nephews and family in Ontario, Nova Scotia and around Canada.

Shirley is pre-deceased by her Loving Husband of 61 years, Bob. Also, by her parents, Alec and Elsie Crews, and her many brothers and sisters.

Shirley was very proud of her family and loved posting about them to her Facebook friends and family.

When Shirley was young, she attended the Salvation Army and was very involved in many of their groups and activities. As an adult she attended and was involved with North Runnymede United Church where she was a member of many church groups and committees. She always spoke highly of her Salvation Army and North Runnymede families.

Shirley was well loved and will be missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will take place on Thursday May 1, 2025, at 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Wards Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road, Toronto.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday May 2, 2025, at 11:00 am at North Runnymede United Church, 33 Pritchard Ave, Toronto.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Easter Seals of Ontario or Canadian Diabetes Association.
