Shirley passed away very peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday June 26th. Mom was 91 years old. She was born on August 9th, 1934 and lived in Mount Dennis her entire life. As a young girl, Mom was a bit of a tomboy. She played baseball, danced on rollerskates and actually skated down a huge hill called the Eglinton Flats, which resulted in a broken arm. Mom was always a rock for her family. We all loved going home for visits and special events. She always felt that we brought life back into the house. Mom loved reading, sharing her crocheting, sewing and quilting skills with her children, grandchildren and friends. Mom had many, many friends. In later years she thrived in any of the numerous fundraising events for her church. She encouraged all of us to help out. While mom was so easy going she was definitely a bit of a card shark. She loved playing euchre at her church and at various friends homes and make no mistake, she loved to win. Near the end mom was more concerned about what her passing would mean to her family than her own wellbeing. Mom was anxious to go peacefully. She is with her husband of 70 plus years dancing to the Platters. Her last words to us were "I love you". She may be gone but she will never be forgotten.
"Rest in peace Mom. We love you"
