Shirley Cairns, a woman of extraordinary grace and unwavering warmth, passed away peacefully at age 87 in Cambridge, Ontario, with her family by her side. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered as a joyful, faithful, and humble soul.
Shirley's gentle spirit shone brightly, even in the face of health challenges. Her strength was a quiet testament to a grace that words can scarcely capture. A devoted mother, she dedicated her life to her children, and later, to serving others as an employee at the Richview library and then as a loving volunteer at the seniors centre. Shirley's life was a beautiful expression of her faith. As a lifelong member of St. Philip's Anglican Church, she truly relied on her relationship with God and lived by the peace promised in John 14:27, a peace the world cannot give.
She is survived by her loving children, Stephen Cairns; Laura McKnight (Robert McKnight); and Beth Petersen (Larry Petersen), and her cherished grandchildren, Kendra, Krystal, Katrina, and Tove. Our family extends our deepest gratitude to Gloria, Carole, and most deeply Denielle, whose enduring love and care meant the world to Shirley and to us.
One final thought Shirley would want you to remember
