In Loving Memory of Sharon McClelland

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon McClelland, on September 1, 2026, at the age of 76.

Sharon was born on October 11, 1949, in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, to the late John Andrew Corbett and Alice Maude (nee Martin) Corbett, both of New Waterford, Nova Scotia. She was one of fifteen children and grew up surrounded by a large family and the many memories that came from being one of fifteen siblings.

Sharon was predeceased by her beloved partner, Ernest E. Wade, who passed away in February of this year. Their years together were a cherished part of her life, and it is comforting to think that they are now together again.

Sharon also endured the heartbreaking loss of her only child, her daughter Alahana Mondelli and her newborn grandson, who passed away in 1998. This unimaginable loss remained a part of Sharon’s story and something she carried in her heart throughout her life.

Sharon was a strong, independent, intelligent, and determined woman. She dedicated more than 25 years of her career to Bayer, where she built a successful and respected professional life. Upon retirement, Sharon began an exciting new chapter, creating and operating her own private investigator business—a reflection of her independent spirit, curiosity, courage, and determination to do things her own way.

Sharon was predeceased by her sisters Veronica, Joyce, and Iris.

She is survived by her siblings Agnes, John Scott, Blair, Jim, Frank, Elaine, Lois, Robert, Patricia, Wanda, and Barry, along with many nieces and nephews who will carry her memory forward.

Among those who held a particularly special place in Sharon’s heart was her niece, Pamela. Although Pamela was Ernie’s biological niece, Sharon embraced her as her own niece, and over the years their relationship grew into something truly special.

During the final seven to eight months of Sharon’s life, Pamela was by her side, caring for her and sharing in the final chapter of her journey. What began through family became a relationship of genuine love, trust, companionship, and devotion.

Pamela will forever treasure the time they shared together—the conversations, the laughter, the difficult days, and all the quiet moments in between. Being there for Sharon during the final chapter of her life was an honour and a gift that Pamela will carry with her always.

May Sharon now find peace, reunited with Ernie, her beloved daughter Alahana and her precious grandson Ethan whom she carried in her heart for so many years.

Rest peacefully, Sharon. You were loved, you were cherished, and you will never be forgotten.
