SAVERIO (SAM) PRINCIPE June 22, 1939 - January 14, 2011 Passed peacefully surrounded by his family, following a brave and courageous battle with scleroderma on January 14, 2011. Saverio lived his life with passion, love and generosity. His home was always filled with music, family and friends, which he made wherever he was. Sam had the highest moral character and would offer the most precious gifts, his time, friendship, skills, knowledge, guidance and love to all those around him. He was a devoted husband of 48 years to Maureen and admired father to Carino and Lisa, Michael and Joanna, beloved grandfather to Julia, Jessica, Jenna, Matthew and Sarah and caring brother to Chiara and Corrado, Albertina and Joe, Bina and Ignazio, Anna and Jerry, Frank and Nina, Eric and Cathy. He always looked forward to family meals and would never forget to mention that his food always tasted better because 'he put love into it.' Saverio, Sam, Sammy, Dad, Nonno, Grandpa leaves behind a legacy, which we can only aspire to achieve. He will be deeply missed by friends and family. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy. 7., Woodbridge (just west of Pine Valley Dr.), 905-851-9100, on Monday from 6-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Parish 150 St. Francis Ave., Woodbridge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sam's memory to the Scleroderma Society of Ontario
