TAYLOR, Sara (nee Rix)

It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to our beloved Sara Taylor, who passed away at the age of 89 on Sunday, February 25, 2024. She entered this world in Georgetown, Guyana, on October 16, 1934, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and boundless kindness.

Sara, affectionately known as Granny Sara, was the cornerstone of our family. She brought warmth and joy wherever she went, lighting up the room with her infectious laughter and unwavering spirit. Her love knew no bounds, and she cherished every moment spent with her late husband John, her children Anne and Joe, their spouses Emilio Polsinelli and Sandra, and her grandchildren Victoria, Ryan, and Sean.

A true community champion, after a long career, during her retirement, Sara dedicated 25 years of her life to volunteering, embodying the spirit of service that earned her The Queen's Medal for Voluntary Service—a badge of honor she wore with immense pride. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her selflessness touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Sara's love for flowers and music was surpassed only by her love for her family and friends. She was always there to lend a helping hand or a listening ear, offering sage advice and endless support to those in need. Her home was a haven of love and laughter, where all were welcome, and none left without a smile.

As the youngest of nine children born to Sara and Archie Rix, Sara held a special place in the hearts of her siblings (Agnes, Joyce, Sister Rosanne, Marjory, Jean, John, Dennis, and Raymond) nieces, and nephews. She was the glue that held the family together, weaving a tapestry of love and memories that will endure for generations to come. Though our hearts ache at the thought of a world without Sara, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched. As we bid farewell to our dear mother and grandmother Sara, let us celebrate her life with laughter and love, remembering the joy she brought to all who knew her. Rest in peace, dear Sara, knowing that you will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
