In Loving Memory of Sante Lena 1926 – 2025

On October 2, 2025, Sante Lena passed away peacefully at the age of 99.

Sante immigrated to Canada in 1957 in search of a better life for himself and his family. He now joins his beloved wife Zita, who predeceased him. A man of deep faith, Sante devoted his life to his family and to his church. He was a hardworking labourer, known by many as the handyman who could fix anything around the house.

His greatest joys were tending to his vegetable garden, making wine, and using the skills he learned in Italy to craft sausages and cured meats for family and friends.

Sante dedicated countless hours to St. Bernard Parish, always ready to lend a helping hand. He was a devoted member of the choir, an active participant in the seniors’ club, and lovingly constructed the church's nativity scene every Christmas. His elaborate displays featured running water, electricity, and live plants—bringing joy and wonder to the entire parish community.

A passionate soccer fan, Sante never missed a chance to cheer on his beloved Juventus and the Italian National Team. He also found great companionship in the family dog, Moji.

Sante is lovingly remembered by his children: Ermes and Angela, and Lucy; his grandchildren: Daniel and Flora, Andrew and Dianne, Nadia and Vito, Sonia and Ashley; and his great-grandchildren: Conrad, Conan, Lucas, Olivia, Thomas and Alistair. He is also survived by his sister and brother, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends in Italy.

His legacy of love, faith, and family will continue to live on through all who knew him.
