Sandro D’Alfonso
Passed away in his sleep after a day with his family on Thursday October 16, 2025 at the age of 62. Cherished son of Ilde and the late Donato. Loving brother of Adriano (Grace) and Tony (Maxine). Adored Zio of Alex (Diana), Marc, Jenvieve-Anna, Maya-Chiara, Stefania-Daniella and Great Uncle of Theo and Ellie. He will be sadly missed by his many family and friends. Sandro has been reunited with his dear father Donato.
Unbridled enthusiasm and happiness would be the best way to describe Sandro’s approach to life. Sandro will be fondly remembered for his love of hockey (it never mattered who actually was playing) and Elvis Presley. His bouts of excitement could be heard throughout the house when “his team" would score.
Sandro also had a passion for dancing, which stemmed from watching Elvis Presley on film. As soon as he heard a familiar musical note, you could bet he’d be up and shimmying across the floor. It was hard for anyone in the room not to jump up and dance with him when these events occurred.
Sandro was a bit of a food snob as well. He certainly had favourite dishes he enjoyed, but he relished the simple foods, like a mortadella sandwich best. Sandro always referred to these sandwiches as “te-tell” - this would confuse some, but we all knew what he wanted to eat! And it had to be “nice and soft” (his words).
Sandro was always a joy to have around. He will be forever loved and always remembered.
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge (just west of Pine Valley Dr.,) on Thursday October 23 from 4-8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Friday October 24, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Church 150 St. Francis Ave., Woodbridge. Entombment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery 7241 Jane St., Concord.
Feel free to wear a jersey of your favourite team in Sandro’s honour.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Villa Colombo Vaughan would be appreciated.
