Salvatore Marando was born on September 4, 1941 (registered on the 8th) in Marina Di Gioisa Ionica in Reggio Calabria, Italy. He came to Canada a young man full of ambition and drive. He met his soulmate, Constandina, affectionately called Nitsa at night school to learn English, but their true shared language was love for each other. They had two children, Domenic and Maria Teresa (Derrick), and he continued to build a future for his new family.
In 1970 he opened a painting company, Marando Painting where they built a reputation for excellence, integrity and honesty. His legacy and company continue to this day and was a source of pride for him.
Salvatore was a gentleman and a scholar. He did everything with a gentle hand, and was a constant learner. He read daily, embraced technology and was open minded to any concept that would make life and his family better.
He treasured his family, his three grandchildren, Alexa Constandina, Dante Giovanni and Michael Salvatore. He cared most about their hearts, if they were happy and made sure they felt his love for them by telling them he loved them each time they spoke. Over their 55 years of marriage, they learned to ballroom dance, joined a
bowling league, travelled the world and made many dear friends. Salvatore was selfless, and became a caregiver for his love for the last 7 years and held her hand and heart as Alzheimer’s took her away from him.
He knew the value of happiness, the gift of kindness, the infinity of love and blessed his family and friends with
them.
