Passed away peacefully on June 6, 2014 at age 91 after a short illness. Ruth Edgar (nee Greer) was the devoted wife of the late Harold Anderson Edgar. She leaves behind her loving daughter, Anne Elizabeth Edgar, and her husband, Rick Dodds-Hebron. Ruth is survived by her brother, Ken Greer and his wife, Joan, and her nieces Kathy (Lorne), Sharon (Arnie) and Charlotte (Tony). She was predeceased by her parents Merwin and Fleda Greer and her sister, Dorothy (Greer) Blake.
Ruth was very creative with needlework and craft projects and was a sports enthusiast with a passion for golf. She was an Honorary Member of the Brampton Golf Club having served twice as Ladies’ Golf Captain and as a member of the club’s Board of Directors and was an Honorary Life Director of the Ontario Ladies Golf Association for serving three terms on the Association’s Board.
At Ruth’s request a private family service will be held at a later date. In memory of Ruth and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Bethell House Hospice, Inglewood, would be greatly appreciated. Condolences and memories may be made through www.wardfuneralhome.com
