Peacefully after a brief illness, with her family by her side on Friday February 19, 2016 in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Douglas Cameron. Loving mother of Bruce (Deborah), Anne Bailey (David), Scott (Mary), and Lynn. Cherished grandma of Graeme (Gwen), Krysten (Neil), Stuart (Emilie), Carolyn (Kris), Jonathan, Alyson (Jon), Stephen, Heather (Garrett), Jillian, Richard, Roger, Laura (Adam), Alex. Doting great-grandma of Katelyn, Jack, Alex, Claire, Ben, Christopher. Dear long-time friend of Jeanette Lane. Ruth will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Ruth graduated from Runnymede Collegiate in 1943. She married Doug in 1944 and they spent 64 happy years together. Ruth was a stay at home mom, a community volunteer, an active member of her church, and a valued great friend throughout her life. She was gracious, inclusive and a wonderful role model.

Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home “Weston Chapel”, 2035 Weston Rd. (N. of Lawrence Ave. W.) on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Memorial Service at Capstone Community Bible Church (1483 Royal York Road, Etobicoke) on Saturday February 27, 2016 at 11am; reception to follow. Private family interment. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Dorothy Ley Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
