Ruth Marie Bryans (nee Moorehead)

April 27, 1926 – August 6, 2024

Ruth passed away peacefully at Orangeville’s Avalon Care Centre after several years of dedicated care. The family gratefully thanks the staff for their constant warmth and fellowship.

Predeceased by her loving husband for 64 yrs, John (Jack) passed in 2014. Beloved mother of Bill (Geri), Nancy Woods (Terry) and Pat Bryans-Orr (James). Loving Grandmother to Tara Martin (Adam) and Jodi Stevenson (Eric). Great Grandmother to Lily, Coltan, Noah Martin, Keegan and Nathan Stevenson. Ruth, daughter of Thomas and Mabel Moorehead, born in Brampton was the last surviving sibling to her older four brothers: Gord, Jack, Harvey, and Bill.

Besides being an "always on demand" dairy farmer's wife, Ruth loved many years of playing and watching curling (Mom and Dad often travelled to watch Regional, National, and World competitive championships). As well she was competitive in lawn bowling, played church bells, loved horseback riding, aqua fit, playing cards "with the girls", going to the theatre, even long walks at the hunt camp near Vankoughnet. She was also member of the Derry West women's institute and Probus Canada.
