It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rupert (Rup) Folkard beloved father to Oliver, Brother to Henry and Noel, Uncle to Justin, Matthew, Amy, Ashley, Lindsey, Jessica and Rebecca.

Rup’s life was nothing short of amazing, spending summers sailing through the inner harbour in Toronto at the RCYC. Completing studies at the Toronto University and successfully graduating as a Chartered Accountant. Opening an accounting office in Mississauga with a large staff and training accountants for the CA Institute.

Rup’s love for sailing was only trumped by his love for Marilyn and their son Oliver. Eventually Rup purchased a Tanzer 10.5 and named her “Puissance”, docked in Mimico. He sailed all over lake Ontario in every type of weather and proved his metal each and every time losing only small amounts of gel coat.

Rup will be missed by all of us who knew him, his passion for life, schwa de vie, sense of humour and risk taking. His insatiable craving for adventure will live forever in our hearts.

Rest peacefully Rupert you have earned it!
