Ross Golden
February 21, 1936 – February 17, 2026
It is with great love and sadness that we announce the passing of Ross Golden, known to many simply as “PJ.” Ross passed away on February 17, 2026, just days before his 90th birthday.
Born in Toronto to Joseph and Ina (nee Weldrick), Ross was a natural athlete who excelled in fastball and hockey, pitching no-hitters in his youth and playing Junior A hockey with the Kitchener-Waterloo Greenshirts. After an injury ended his hockey career, he went on to build a successful leadership career with Kodak Canada in the emerging field of information technology.
He was predeceased by his high school sweetheart and best friend, Doreen (nee Erskine). Ross was a proud and devoted father to his daughters, Kerri, Lee-Anne, and Jodi.
He was funny, generous — especially with his girls — and a man of few but meaningful words. He also served the community with his time and commitment, volunteering with the Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life, as a hockey coach in Etobicoke, and a board member at Runnymede Healthcare Centre. He held several roles at the parishes of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church and Christ Church Woodbridge and at Kilwinning Masonic Lodge and Temple Lodge.
He will be missed by his extended family and friends in Toronto and in Providenciales, a place he dearly loved to visit and make lasting memories. We will remember Dad for his steady presence, his quiet strength, and the way he always showed up for us. His stories, his humour, and the nicknames he so freely gave will stay with us always. We were lucky to call him ours.
