Rosemary Faichnie

Born January 8, 1937

Died July 2, 2024

The only child of Edward & Lillian Heeley. She married Alan Faichnie on April 20, 1957. She is survived by her three children – Jo, Terry and Andrew.

Rosemary was a stay-at-home housewife. She grew up with a mother that worked outside the home and was determined that her children would not grow up that way. She was heavily involved with the Brownies and then the Girl Guides for many years. She was a terrific gardener, inheriting her mother’s green thumb!

Rosemary loved sailing and her boat. The boat was her home from launch to haul-out. She helped Alan pass his love of sailing on to their children. They belonged to Port Credit Yacht Club for a number of years. Rosemary was an active member serving on the Ladies Auxillary. Later they joined Mimico Cruising Club from 1983 – 2019.

After Alan died, Rosemary tried to make a life without him. They had been together since dating in 1956. She had a series of falls but seemed to bounce back. Determined to live life her way, in her own home. Her passing was shocking to the family.

Always in their hearts, her family will miss her very much.
