Rose Jansen - Kingdon, 65, passed away peacefully in her home on March 27th, 2026. Rose was born in Toronto to Louis and Diane Jansen, and spent the majority of her childhood in Guelph, Ontario. Rose was later a graduate from the radio broadcasting program at Humber College. 

Rose had an illustrious career in the Canadian broadcasting industry, working 38 years with The Canadian Press until her retirement in 2023 culminating in a lifetime achievement award that was her crowning accomplishment. Rose loved to travel, was a lifelong reader, lover of history, eucher aficionado and captivating storyteller. To those who knew her, she was a beloved mother, sister, mentor and friend. Her warmth and care for everyone she knew was on display every day and will leave a lifelong impact on those around her.

Rose is survived by her children Sean and Ailish Kingdon, her sister Angela Smith and her husband John Smith, her brother Paul Jansen, and her nieces Katie, Meaghan, Rachel, and great niece Aurora. She is predeceased by her parents Louis and Diane, her brother Gary Jansen and cats Clancy, Scooter and Loki. She will be deeply missed by her many friends and those that knew her. 

Per Rose’s wishes there will be a cremation followed by a private internment service for the family. 

A celebration of life will be held for Rose, with an exact date to be announced in the coming weeks. It will be updated on this memorial page when the details are set. We hope to see all of you to celebrate such a wonderful life.
