Rosario Alongi.
Born in Palermo, Sicily on July 27, 1931. Passed away peacefully at home, on July 21, 2014.
Devoted husband of Maria for 58 years. Very loyal and committed father to Antonietta (Domenico Sbergio), Francesca (Michele Peluso) and Margherita (Gary Maxwell). Cherished ‘Nonno” to Mattia (Robertino), Stefano (Kelsey), Adele, Rosario, Francesco, Joseph, Daniel and Isabella, and “Bis-Nonno” to Vienna, Victoria, Massimo, Domenico and Alessandro. Rosario will forever be in the hearts of his nieces and nephews, Salvina, Tony, Francesca, Filippina, Vincenzo, Anna – Maria, Marco, Antonietta, and Silvana, and their respective families. Dear brother to Calogero and Pina, and extended family in Sicily.
Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy 7 (west of Pine Valley Dr.), Woodbridge, on Wednesday, from 6-9pm and on Thursday, from 2-4 & 6-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Clare of Assisi Church, 150 St. Francis Ave, Woodbridge, on Friday, July 25 at 10am. Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
