Rosa Madia

Rosa Madia passed away peacefully in her home in Brampton Ontario on December 15, 2017 due to complications following leukemia cancer (AML). She was 82.

Rosa was born on December 23, 1934 in beautiful San Giovanni in Fiore Calabria to her parents, Francesco and Maria Lopez. She was a proficient seamstress skilled at sewing outfits and mending clothes for her family and friends. She married her husband Simone Madia in 1958. Rosa was a patient and supportive mother who centered her life on her family.

Rosa is survived by her daughter Toni Runca her son Lino Madia and daughter-in-law Lisa; her son Frank Madia and daughter-in-law Anna; and her five grandchildren Jessica Runca, Angelina Madia, Sydney Madia, Owen Madia, and Simone Madia. She is preceded in death by her husband, Simone; her sister, Antonietta; her brothers Salvatore and Pietro.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home "Brampton Chapel", 52 Main St. South(Hwy10), Brampton, on Monday December, 18 from 2-4 &7-9 P.M. A Funeral Mass will follow Tuesday December 19, 2017 at St. Mary's Church 66A Main St South, Brampton. Entombment Glen Oaks Memorial Gardens at 12:00 noon 3164 Ninth Line Oakville with a reception to follow at Le Dome Banquet Hall 1173 North Service Rd East, Oakville. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Rosa’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to In Honour or in Memory to SickKids Foundation.
