In Loving Memory of Ronald William Evans
November 25, 1955 – September 22, 2026
Ronald William Evans was born on November 25, 1955, in Hatchet Lake, Nova Scotia, to his loving parents, the late John Evans and Mary Evans (née Moulton). Ron passed away leaving behind a legacy of resilience, strength, and boundless dedication to his family and community. A true jack-of-all-trades, Ron lived his life with unwavering determination and a huge heart, proving time and again his favorite belief: "It’s not the size of the dog in the fight... it’s the size of the fight in the dog."
He had a passion for Canadian politics and helped with many campaigns for Brampton elections. Ron was a passionate sportsman through and through. He loved sports of all kinds, with a deep passion for coaching lacrosse and preserving the Brampton Excelsiors lacrosse team and also spending time on the field. He also loved his Toronto Maple Leafs and said often..."this is the year" rendering to his unwavering hope and dedication to the fact he wanted them to win the Stanley Cup. In his early 70s and 80s, his love for boxing led him to train and mentor many aspiring boxers, instilling in them the grit, discipline, and confidence he lived by every day.
Throughout his life, Ron was known for his incredible work ethic. In addition to a dedicated career at Walmart for many years, he built, owned, and operated a highly reputable and successful tax business, earning the respect and trust of so many in his community. No matter the task, Ron could fix, build, or solve just about anything.
Family was central to Ron's life. He is predeceased by his parents, John and Mary; his brothers Ralph, Reggie, Richard, Andrew and Cliff; and his sisters Phyllis, Sharon, Barb, Shirley, and Geraldine. He is survived by his beloved son Ron Evans II and daughter in law Felicia Sellars), his step-son Leon Xu, and his brother Donnie Evans. Also survived by his grandchildren Kassondra, Joshua, Ronnie, Samir and Zain. His great-grandchildren Calvin, Amarie and Enzo. And countless nieces and nephews.
Ron was deeply loved by his family, friends, athletes, and community, and his absence will be felt profoundly. His spirit, fighting heart, and unforgettable presence will be missed forever, but never forgotten. There will be no service at this time and donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Society.
