Sunday February 7, 2016. Beloved husband, best friend, soul mate and traveling companion of Kimberley Anne Bates, loved by son Mark (Hayley), stepfather Rodger Bawden, brother David, sister Judy, in-laws John and Carol Kys and Paul and Pam Bates. Adoring uncle to Amanda (Jesse), Kayti, Eric, Jack, Lenore and Kelly. We're all going to miss Bob’s great cooking, his love of all things Christmas, a good joke, cottaging at Kashe Lake, teddy bears, his pets and family dinners. He was a quiet man with a big and generous heart. He was well regarded in the monument industry where he made life long friends and won many awards and competitions around the world. Long time curling member at Weston Golf and Country Club. In lieu of flowers, donations to Ian Anderson House in Oakville would be appreciated. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Rd., Weston on Thursday, February 11th, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. A private family interment will follow.
