Robert Field

Brampton — Robert Henry Field, age 87, died August 7, 2013 at Bethell Hospice in Inglewood, Ontario after a battle with cancer. Bob is survived by his wife, Abigail Wilson Russell Lees, his son Alan Robert Field, two grandchildren, Emily Field and Steven Field, Sister-in-Law Isabell Carter and Brother-in-Law John Lees. Bob was born in Walsall, England on February 6, 1926 to Mother Minnie Froggatt and Father Robert Haggard Field. Robert is predeceased by his sister Dorothy. He was a proud veteran of World War II where he served on the submarine Totem for the Royal Navy. Bob also served in the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve after coming to Canada in 1948. Bob and Gail were married on August 19, 1950. He worked for the Ontario School Board in many capacities including Inspector of Elementary Schools, Director with the Windsor Public School Board and CEO of the Education Relations Committee for Ontario. Bob will be dearly missed by all who loved and respected him. Any man can be a father but it takes someone special to be a dad. Complete services will be held at The Ward Funeral Home “Brampton Chapel” 52 Main St. S. (Hwy #10) Brampton on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. Cremation to follow.
