Heavy hearted, we announce the peaceful passing of Bob on Saturday, August 26th, 2023 at the Humber River Hospital at the age of 79. Cherished husband of Gaye Hussman. Dear brother of Bill (Dominique) & Carol (the late John) Phillpott, in England. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Many thanks to Bob’s caregiver, Ros, with whom he had a close professional relationship. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends here, and in England.

Bob enjoyed a long teaching career with The City of York Board of Education, at York Humber High School, then more recently at George Harvey Secondary School, where he was Tech Department Head until retirement. He was a strong supporter of women in trades and always encouraged female students to take tech subjects. An avid runner himself, Bob also gained much satisfaction from successfully coaching cross-country teams.

A true lover of all animals and nature, Bob was happiest at the cottage/cabin in Gooderham. He was an accomplished and prolific artist, a proud long-distance runner, a talented singer, musician, composer. He leaves behind his adoring and adored cats, Zeni and Percy, and his pampered feral colony.
