Rita Almand

Passed away peacefully at Leisure World, Brampton on August 17, 2011 in her 94th year. Beloved wife of of the late Edward Almand, her husband of 64 years. Dear mother of John (Diane) and Fred (Brenda). She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren John Jr. (Gail), Michele (Dan), Amanda (Scott) and Jim, and her 8 great-grandchildren, Heather, Johnathan, Brittany, Matthew, William, Nicholas, Ashley and Tyler. Fondly remembered by her brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews. Lifetime member of The Church of the Good Shepherd in Mount Dennis and twenty year volunteer for Mount Dennis Meals on Wheels. Mum is where she wants to be – back with her beloved Eddie.
Resting at Ward Funeral Home (2035 Weston Rd. north of Lawrence Ave. ) on Wednesday August 31st from 2-4 & 7-9pm Funeral will be held at The Church of the Good Shepherd ( 1149 Weston Rd.) on Thursday September 1st at 11am. In lieu of flowers as an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada. Special thanks to the caregivers at Leisure World in Brampton for making mother’s last few weeks of life so comfortable.
