Young, Richard Anthony “Tony”
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tony, on October 10, 2012, after a short but especially dignified and courageous battle with cancer. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Heather (nee Allen). He is terribly missed by stepchildren Scott (Milena) Rayner, Jeff Rayner, and Victoria (Jason) Currie. He was the proud Poppy of Tara, Jacob, Nicklaus, Jack and Tommy. Predeceased by his parents Dick and Dorothy and brother Doug. Tony lived life to the fullest with strength and grace, and to the end was immensely appreciative of all his blessings. His innate goodness was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was a loving, selfless, loyal, kind, generous and gentle man whose wonderful sense of humor and thoughtful acts touched the hearts and souls of family and friends every day. He will be forever remembered for his exemplary set of values, his enviable composure and particularly his unfailing courtesy. Tony’s passing is sadly shared by members of his extended family as well as a host of friends, many of whom he’d had from childhood and for whose staunch support we are most grateful. Friends may be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (North of Lawrence Ave. W.) Weston on Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Service will be held on Monday at St. Philip's Anglican Church, 31 St. Phillips Road, Etobicoke at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
