Reyna Ortega

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest Reyna Ortega.  She passed away after a courageous battle at Cortelucci Vaughan Hospital on Friday, March 1, 2024 while surrounded by her beloved family. 

Beloved wife of her dear husband Juan for 50 years. Cherished mother of Ruth (Pastor Toby) & Juan Jr. (Karina). Proud grandmother Rebeca, Christopher, Anthony & Nicolas. Dear sister of Victor Hugo (Paula), Cecilia (Tom), Ana Guadalupe, Esther, Nohemi (David) & Jorge (Esther). She will be lovingly remembered by her extended family & friends both in Canada & abroad. 

A woman of strength beyond expectation, she was dedicated to her family and was the matriarch of her household. Her eyes lit up when she was surrounded by her loved ones. There are no words to describe her immeasurable love for them. 

She showed strength in the face of adversity, she was determined to do what was right for her family. As a wife she was Juan’s rock. As a mother Reyna had fearless passion to support, protect & cherish her children & later grandchildren.

A woman who was a devout Christian, a member of the Pentecostal Church. Though she was an independent woman, she was nonetheless a powerful prayer warrior, her family recalls her praying regularly. The positive impact her many years of faithful praying have had on her family, her friends, and the world at large can certainly be felt. 

All are welcome to gather at Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge on Sunday, March 10, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Ward Funeral Home Chapel on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Beechwood Cemetery.
