Renato "Tac" Tacconelli

August 3, 1955 - June 3, 2025

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Renato (Tac) Tacconelli on June 3, 2025. A loving husband of 41 years to Toni, amazing father to Christina (David) and Alex (Cassandra), and the best Nonno to Julian and Emma. He will be sadly missed by his mother Maria, sister Marisa (Francesco), sister-in-law Loren (Anthony), sister-in-law Karen, and his nieces and nephews Alexandra, Max, Simon, Perri, Mia and Cristian. He is now reunited in heaven with his father Remo, father-in-law Terzo, mother-in-law Teresa and brother-in-law Mauro.

Renato lived a full and beautiful life with no regrets. A civil engineer, he worked at Eastern Construction for almost 46 years where he felt like he “never worked a day in his life”. He was passionate about mentoring new engineers, travelling with his wife, family and friends, watching his grandson play sports, swimming with his grandchildren and, of course, golfing, wine and grappa. He was a member at The National Golf Club of Canada for 38 years and was always looking forward to his next round with the Duffers. He will be fondly remembered by his friends, co-workers and fellow members of The National. Renato had a remarkable ability to leave a lasting impression on everyone he encountered, and his absence will be deeply felt by many.

Family and friends will be received at Ward Funeral Home (4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge) on Monday, June 9, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.– 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Margaret Mary Church (8500 Islington Avenue) on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery.  Memorial donations in Tac's memory may be made to Sick Kids Foundation
