Pietro Ranieri

Passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday April 26, 2024, at the age of 88. He was the husband of the late Caterina (nee Viscomi), father of Giuseppe (Anna), Antonio (Maria) and Luca (Chantelle) and nonno to Joshua (Sabrina). His siblings are Francesca, Salvatore(predeceased), Antonietta(predeceased), Vittorio(predeceased), Angela, Domenico, Paolo, Saverio, and Barbara. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and family. 

Born in Davoli, Catanzaro, Italy to parents Giuseppe and Emilia, at the age of 26, Pietro moved to Canada for a better life. On December 13, 1962, Pietro married Caterina. Together the couple worked hard to provide for their three boys. Caterina and Pietro enjoyed many trips back to Italy to spend time with their families. 

He loved to work in the garden and enjoy the fruits of his labour. From his homemade sauce, to preserves, to his cured meats, he maintained the traditions and work ethic he learned in Italy and passed many of these skills down to his family. He enjoyed raising his rabbits, chickens and pigeons. Over the years he had many cats, but regardless of their gender, most were named 
Carmela. 

Near and dear to his heart was his love for his God, Jehovah.
"Forever loved, always remembered.” 

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge on Sunday from 2-4pm and 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Ward Funeral Home on Monday April 29, 2024, at 11 a.m. Entombment to follow at Glendale Cemetery.
